I Am A Monster

I Am A Monster

A Poem by Jazz Newport Green

I am a monster,
I am not a man.

Of happy, simple things
I am not a fan,
For I am a monster.
I am not a man.

I snarl and growl;
I bare my teeth.
I hiss and spit
and never speak.
That is who I am.
Do not try to change me for,
I am a monster.
I am not a man.

I hate the feel of your touch;
Loving strokes is what I hate.
All those things like care and concern are crap.
For them I have great distaste.
I feel this hate of mine has always been, for
I cannot say when it began.
I think the reason for this,though, is:
I am a monster.
I am not a man.

I do not feel sadness in a bad way,
For it I simply lust.
Greed, and disregard for life is simply a must.
Do not think that I care for you
Just because from you and only you I've not ran.
I detest the thought of someone loving my callous soul, for,
I am a monster.
I am not a man.
