September

A Poem by TheJordBaker
"

another simple one.

"

Another chance has gone,
another chance that I never had.
Twilight jay birds sing out their autumn song
and my heavy head is prospering in my hands.

Her face is the first thing I see.
The stars align to spell out her name
and I know that she’s right there for me.
Satan laughs as we play out his September game.

And the coastline is breezy tonight,
it’s rustically golden, eroding like I.
My heart stopped and my eyes saw flashing lights
but I didn’t rise to the sublime studded sky .

Another night has gone,
another night that we never had.
Twilight jay birds work on their October song
and my heavy head is breaking down in my hands.
