Wine & Cake

Wine & Cake

A Poem by TheLastEclipse

"

Wine & Cake

I never had that expectation of you,
So quit saying I do.
I never really ever loved you,
So quit screaming I do.
Now that we're at the rite I realize it's true,
So I'm not saying I do!

Oh my gah-
It's an evening filled with wine & cake,
Baby, let us shake,
The champagne and uncork it quick.
I can now tell that my love was all a trick.
Why can't I stand seeing all of your relatives,
The smiles on their face is enough to make me kill.
I wanna fall over instead of say no,
But the truth I'm young and healthy so-

"I'm sorry for the troubles,
I probably will pay you in full.
This Ceremony was wrong.
I Guess we didn't have love all along.
And now that you know, I'm gone!"

I yank my ring off,
Throwing it to the ground,
The last thing I hear is the reassuring sound,
Of you crying and your mother cursing me out.
Well to me at least I'm free!

With a crushed essence of despair in my chest,
I do. I honestly wish you the best...
Goodbye.
