THE LONELINESS OF JESUS

Jesus knows what it's like to be lonely.

As the perfect Son of God, He certainly was

unlike all the other children in Nazareth.

And we all know that when a person

is different from the crowd,

they usually spend time by themselves.


Imagine what His childhood was like.

He would have been odd or weird

sticking out morally like a sore thumb,

never quite fitting with any group,

ostracized by His peers, even His own family.


Shortly after He began His public ministry,

many of His followers left and deserted Him

when His teachings became too difficult to grasp.


At the time of His greatest sorrow,

the handful that remain abandoned Him,

and the greatest pain He suffered the most

was not physical but spiritual.


When the sin of the whole world was laid

upon His shoulder at the Cross of Calvary

God turn His back on Him, He felt utterly alone.

Your sin and my sin cost Him His closeness

with His heavenly Father.


If you felt this feeling. Jesus can surely

relate to you and help you, for He Himself

had been subjected to its sting ...
