The Battle

The Battle

A Poem by Lydia

The battle has started

Their weapons are drawn

I stand in defiant silence

With nowhere to run

My allies tell me I'm brave

That I'm smarter than I think

When in the face of the enemy

I know not to shrink

I hold up my hand

And even though I'm small

They know what to do

It silences them all

We cry out in triumph

As they drop their guns

We congratulate each other

As the victory song is sung.

Lydia
I got the idea for this poem after reading the book Insurgent by Veronica Roth. (It's the sequel to Divergent.) This poem just really reminds me of the main character, Tris.
