Dreamland

Dreamland

A Story by Lydia
"

I'd like to stay in Dreamland......

"
When my head hits the pillow, and my tired eyes close, that is when I slip into a place far more interesting and welcoming than reality. I slip into my own personal dreamland where unimaginable things exist. A place where only I can escape to, and no one else has to know about. In Dreamland, I can be anything I want to be. No restrictions, or rules. Only open space, and the ability to do whatever it is I want. I can fly or turn into an amazing creature. I can go to places I'll never be able to go to in real life.
In Dreamland colors are far more vivid. The oranges and pinks of the sunset are so intense, but unlike real life, I don't have to shield my eyes from the brightness. In Dreamland my eyes are perfect. In Dreamland I escape from the real life where people think I'm wierd. Everyone I've met in Dreamland are so nice, and they don't judge me for who I am. I have so many friends in this place whom I can tell anything to. When the people in real life don't want to listen to me, my friends in Dreamland have a consistent listening ear.
In this enchanting place fireflies are everywhere, lighting the skies up with a luminous glow. The birds sing songs that I can only understand in Dreamland. It's a beautiful place to be, and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
You know, what? I think I'd like to stay in Dreamland. I don't want to live in the real world anymore. Compared to here it's so bland. I hate having to leave my friends every morning when I wake up to this harsh and cruel life. So, I think I'll stay. Goodbye, world! I'm going to live in Dreamland.

Ah. Dreamland is a place just as you say. Still, there are dark beasts that infringe from Realworld that total take over, in my opinion, the moment you lose control and slip to sleep. A beautiful rendition of how wonderful life would be if you spun the web of your own world.

I want to live in Dreamland too! My dreams are so weird. Not as good as your dreamland. Once I dreamed of having the same hair as my teacher O.o And then this other time I dreamed I had a purple tongue :P This is a nice peace and flows really well. It's descriptive as well :) Did you go on a crazy writing spree or something? :) I just went through a whole bunch of reading requests from you :D I don't mind though - i enjoy reading your writing, It's good! XD

I really liked this, it took me back to my childhood, when I used to hide from my mother so I could escape to dreamland without her pesky wakings. Saying I could spend my time better than sleeping. But what's better than dreaming? It's the ultimate entertainment. Even nightmares can be more alluring than real life sometimes. This wasn't sad at all, but the last line made me think of suicide. A pretty suicide, that makes such perfect sense it seems almost insane. I feel like this is the kind of piece that everyone can find themselves in. "Everyone I've met in Dreamland are so nice, and they don't judge me for who I am. I have so many friends in this place whom I can tell anything to." This was my favorite part of Dreamland.

Oh, your poem is just they way I see things in my own "dreamland". Your description is perfect and excellently executed. I found it very interesting and intriguing. "In Dreamland, I can be anything I want to be. No restrictions, or rules. Only open space, and the ability to do whatever it is I want." was my favourite line. It explains exactly how everyones dreams are. Keep writing! Your amazing at it.

You describe Dreamland perfectly. I guess we all wish we could stay there.
