A Crimson Line

A Crimson Line

A Poem by TheOther

Once you were in the position
that now my heart has lead me to.
That of missing you and missing me and missing us;
still not knowing if thou shall ever be mine again.

During the day I wonder and I endlessly ponder,
shall we ever be whole again?
For thou carry a part of me and I of thine,
reminiscent of the intense love we once shared.
And by the candlelight at night I whisper your name,
secretly hoping that somehow, somewhere,
you can still feel me,
as my thoughts unravel to give you a form;
one that can fit within my heart forevermore.

Our love was once the biggest gift,
but now 'tis a haunting curse.
An everlasting absence,
stigmatizing every breath.
A distance made of tears and blood;
the crimson line that sets us apart.

Beautiful. I love that the last line has the title in it.
