Seed

Seed

A Poem by John Holmes
"

we can all Love.

"

You planted a seed

in cold and barren soil.

dead and used.

upturned and misused.

yet you buried a seed.

of care and love

dreams and hope.

and you waited.

you waited for Winter to end and spring to come.

you waited for love.

and the seed grew.

and its roots dug deep

deep into the soil

and it found water the likes of which

it could never have hoped for.

water that churns and flows with laughter.

and glistens like liquid sunlight.

and warms your core.

Thawing all ice of the dead past.

You planted a seed.

You planted a seed in my heart.

and now the roots drink deep.

you have made me Love.

You have no idea what you have done.
