The 75% Minority

The 75% Minority

A Poem by Craig Rozniecki

The 75% Minority

We are the proud,
We are the few,
We are the strong,
We are the discriminated,

A constant uphill struggle we face,
A constant battle for our rights,
With politicians and the media against us,
We lock arms ready to fight,

We march together in unison,
With our heads held high,
Refusing to have our freedoms stripped,
Refusing to go down without a fight,

We finally halt to face our oppressors,
Surprised by the lack of them,
Before we look directly behind us,
And see millions upon millions,

Holding only 75% of the population,
Without a month to celebrate our history,
Having never been persecuted for our race or religion,
Having never been enslaved in this country,

Supporting freedom for all,
Except those whom don’t agree with us,
We are the minority,
We are the 75%.
