Genuine Engagement.

Genuine Engagement.

A Poem by Thekevman

A poem about low self confidence.

One thing in life I have always noticed,

but only recently grown to hate,

is that moment in a young relationship,

when the person I'm hoping to impress,

sees that I'm not like everyone else.

They see a dangerous lack of confidence,

words that scream uncertainity and fear,

a well of courage, emptied in one go,

my silence, their confirmation.

Their view of me permanently changes.

Its the death of genuine engagement.

The moment when a relationship changes, is so relatable with me. I can feel it coming, and they swear it won't change anything. And in that moment, I know things will never be the same. Great write!!!

Yeah, it's a very sad moment. You feel so helpless. Thanks for the comment.
