The Night Of The Wild

The Night Of The Wild

A Poem by Deron Alexis

The Night Of The

Wild

The night of the wild

The glade’s awakening

A breath of the spring

The feral spirit

The will of the wild

Conjures the moonbeam

Silver and blue

Like spring’s twilight

Citizens of the grove,

The glyphic orchestra

Thunderous base of beetles’ drums

And mass of crickets’ voices as one

Owls of harmony

The melodic sovereignty

Like wind’s inspiration

The ancients rise again

And dryads can fly

Each stream sings along

And ancients are watered  with song

The power of the glade lies in rhythm

The primal beasts can feel it too

And we all dance by instinct’s guide

By fang and claw

On a truly wild side
