Mt. Harmony

Mt. Harmony

A Poem by Deron Alexis

Mt. harmony

There is where I want to be

cause it’s far away from here

The summits rise above the strife

And sorrows the arid lands of fear

The air is laced with music

which sounds like freedom's glee

The windfall charmed in blossoms

Rushes down toward the sea

Whose waves powerfully incessant

Are crashing ever more

As long as someone out there

is hoping for something sure

The grass is green and lush

And soft enough to sway

Like fields of green Elysium

Where the untamed horses play

The hollow logs and trees

Use the wind to sing

Like a chorus choir’s heartbeat

In time with everything

It’s where souls having met

Will never be torn asunder

Where hearts being given

Will never be caused to wonder

Where love having been forged

Will never be caused to melt

Where bodies being made one

Will never see regret

The river ever wanders

Telling secrets to the stones

It trudges past the willows

Gathering a strength of all its own

The delta shows a power

that all of us can be

then amasses all its pride

and topples into the sea

The moon is ever silver

the light is clean and pure

The mountain never shudders

will stand forever more

An owl lands on my shoulder

the wind rushes past my ears

as the cherry blossoms are made to orbit me

since the absence of my fears
