FOR HIS FLAME

FOR HIS FLAME

A Poem by DIVYA
"

The burning abyss of love

"

He’s a moth to her flame

A fleck of dust upon gold

Glistening, he basks

In the fuming depths of her folds

Diving dizzily into her realm

He fears no pain as she seethes

Her fire singes his wings

Her searing wind, he breathes

Her moth, he sways with her

Through every passing storm

Imploring each dark, fearful gust

To not snuff out her wavering form

And so truly is he enticed

He shuns the lustrous morning rays

Welcoming a severe night

Lit solely by his beloved’s blaze

He’s a moth to her flame

The stars for him do weep

A speck that burns in love

His flame on earth to keep

Thus is a striking image, the disturbing truth that we can risk all in love and be destroyed by its very flames... You construct your poem with awesome skill, taking us through the scene with deft and fluent writing. A lovely poem.

A moth to the light. If we are the light. A blessing.

Amazingly good! We are all moths drawn to a flame of some kind or another.

Isn't it funny that as some men are drawn to a woman's beautiful flame of attraction, there are some women who gravitate to the bad boy who seemingly holds the water that would extinguish her power?

The moth to the flame may be an old concept, yet you also take notice of the sun and the stars. By human nature, a man will often feel the gravitational pull of one light. And that light is often his reason for being. Whether it be through dedication or naivety.

Well done, Divya. The video is splendid.

You have so 'matured' as a poet over these years. This is another flowing, fine piece with poise and balance and wit coloured in pathos and sardonic wit.

An excellent poem, both dangerous and romantic in equal measure.

In your poetic personified beauty you have given us the true tale of a romantic relationship; two different forms, one full of danger and intensity, the other meek and mild, yet together both sharing an undeniable attraction. There are many flames and many moths, yet the moth will always be attracted to the one flame that gives him light and warmth that enraptures him and him alone. Such is her allure that he will gladly stay in her vicinity and burn in her blaze to stay by her side forever. Such an act, as you have wonderfully described here with lovely flow and flawless rhyme, only intensifies the undaunted courage and loyalty of the simple moth. He is enthralled by her glow and will rage against the elements to protect her and stay within her comforting cocoon. A nobility that only true love can give allowance to.

This is a fabulous creation by your gifted hand. Eloquent, full of truth and beautifully constructed on the page. Like the stirring winds that threaten to snuff out that flame, your poetry is in its element at present. Keep creating always.

Wonderful work.
