Silly Answer

Silly Answer

A Poem by Beatrice Mars

I was soul searching
Your face,
Looking deep into
Your eyes,
Hoping I'd find
Something to explain
What was going on.

But I realised
You were having
A
Funny five
Years
And it was something
You had to be there
To get.

And I now realise
That,
If you ask a silly
Question,
You'll get
A silly
Answer.
But I really wanted to know
And you still
Wouldn't tell
Me,
Which just proves that
You're a silly
Guy.

You handed me a
Snot covered,
Lipstick Smeared
Tissue
To dry my face with.

And I looked into your
Eyes
And I realised they were blue
(Not green)
And with that,
I walked away
Because,
You are ridiculous
If you expect
Me to hang
Around for this.

I love this piece, it has such a brilliant story to it that played out in my head like a film. 'If you ask a silly question, they you'll get a silly answer' - love it! Thanks for sharing.
