Tripping over Yesterday

Tripping over Yesterday

A Poem by Beatrice Mars

I've been looking at

My feet

And not the road.

I've been tripping over

Yesterday

And falling into

Tomorrow

I've been rolling

Through the
Weeks

And now I don't

Know the day

(Or month or year)

I stuck my fingers

Down my throat,

Saliva rolls down

My arms like tears

But I can't

Bring anything up

So when all has washed up

I wait 'til break of day

And continue with

My clumsiness

(Running)

Tripping away

As fast as possible

Wow really powerful imagery -

'I stuck my fingers
Down my throat,
Saliva rolls down
My arms like tears
But I can't
Bring anything up'

brilliance. xx
