Enough

Enough

A Poem by Beatrice Mars
"

Oh

"

I'm good at lots of things,

I'm a fine drinker

And I know just

How much I can take.

I'm not so good with you though.

I don't know how much is enough

And I don't really know you at all

(But that doesn't stop me)

I gave you my soul,

But that was more than enough

And in your innocent rage

You hurt me more than

You ever could sober

Now I think

I'm drowning you in this dark room

(Soaking your liver, I'll kill you)

And I won't feel guilty

Because you can

Make choices.

When you scream

And shout and cry

(And hit and kick)

It doesn't make a f*****g difference,

Because this is what we have

And if you don't like it -

And frankly even if you do, because

I don't-

Go the f**k away.

I'm sorry -

Well I'm not -

Yes I am.

Sorry.

(But that doesn't mean I don't hate you, little boy)

You watch me as I cry,

Perversely addicted as though

I'm some sort of erotic,

You tell me I'm beautiful

And I don't understand.

You're weak when you say,

'I want to help you'

Because you don't really.

(You're just trying to make yourself

Feel better)

You're lying when you say,

'But I don't know how.'

Because

(Even if you refuse)
You know exactly how to love me.

And you're brutally honest when you say,

'And I don't think you can be helped'

Because you know how much I loathe you myself.

You (unnecessarily) point how

What a contradiction I am.

(I don't bother telling you to look in the mirror)

We're shouting at each other,

But we're arguing with ourselves.

You stand across the room from me,

Tragic,

Beautiful

And repulsive at the same time.

I hate how easily

I (you) manipulate

You (me).

This is incredible! Absolutly adore this! I love the way you've portrayed this emotions in this, it's fantastic, the after thoughts, the nitty gritty thoughts, just magic! Love this so much! Very good piece, mortal~

Powerful, moving, desperate. You create this dark imagery well.

wowzers. heart this majorly. Love the 'brutal honesty'. Sort of furious and resigned all at once.

We're shouting at each other,
But we're arguing with ourselves

That line is like a kick in the face. Because everyone KNOWS it's true. we just don't say it. LOVE LOVE xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I like the use of parentheses (Dont think I spelled that right) on this.

Overall: Awsome poem and keep up the great work
