Furies and Fates

Furies and Fates

A Poem by Thoren
"

Which Will Be Following You?

"

On the nights when the moon exposes his face,
he glares upon us and summons furies and fates!
Six mythical creatures with duties assigned,
three to punish wrong-doers, three to define destiny, for all mankind!

Now look over your shoulder and look hard in the shade,
if it’s Tisiphone, Alecto or Megara be forewarned, be afraid!
They seek out wrong-doers and there's no escape,
don't bother confessing dark secrets, sorry to say, it’s way too late!

If you see Clotho, Atropos or Lachesis, there’s no need to run,
they find lost wandering souls and define purpose for them.
But then of course, Atropos performs one job on the side,
for poor souls out of time, I'm sorry to say, she cuts their life line!

Intriguing write here...as I read this verse...
gives you a history lesson of sort on mythology...
and the means by which they preform their ritual duties...
for the good or bad for humankind...
easy reading and puts a rather ---
...ahh --- I learned something from this one...
I guess the fate of man or woman is either/or...
I will take my chances with the better half:

Clotho, Atropos or Lachesis, there’s no need to run,

or roll the dice with wrath:

Tisiphone, Alecto or Megara be forewarned, be afraid!
