Sailing By Starlight

Sailing By Starlight

A Poem by Thorn
"

Sail onward, towards uncertainty.

"
It always starts like this,
The moon-boat sailing on ebony seas,
Tracing a course through oceans of stars.
But as she begins to sink,
I can not help but wonder.
Could tomorrow be different?
Might the moon rise orange?

Hope calls. That's what I take from it. It starts out kind of sad and then floats into a dream world of clouds.

I love this! It's so mysterious. I like the questions and the wondering, and the imagery. I love the word 'ebony', so seeing it made me like it even more. The last line is fantastic. "Might the moon rise orange?". I love that. I like how it's about sailing into uncertainty, about being on the seas and it being the same as it always is, wanting something to change. "But as she begins to sink," I love that line. It's beautiful.
