The worst thing is holding on to someone who doesn’t want to be held on to.

I’ve always loved you but you’ve always loved her

This pain in my heart, was it meant forever?

Each time we’re together I just feel complete

Why did my sole destiny lead us to meet?

 

Your softest touch makes me feel secured

But my feelings for you seem so obscured

What do I lack from this girl in your life?

Soon I just wished to be your caring wife

 

My uncertainty is nearly breaking my heart

Why did I ever love you from the very start?

I’ve cried enough and I’m about to let go

Yet my heart is still fighting for “yes” and “no”

Through sorrow and joy I will stay by your side

I will veil these tears that I all have cried

Letting go forever is a choice to make

This dream about you I must stay awake

Oh my gosh! This just made my heart ache so much. You did a really splendid work on this one. Unrequited love, I must say that it is a really painful thing. It is hard to find someone who will love you back when you fall for him/her. You expressed the greatest emotions on this one. I hope you're not experiencing that dilemma.

sweet sentiments here on the musings of the heart as one ventures through the termoil of "unrequited love"... which seems to be 99% of the time in this poem as the ending sort of hints at sleeping with one's eye open. An amazing point of view! Thanks.
