Memories of Us

A moment lasts all of a second, but the memory lives on forever.

I still remember the times we’re together
I often wish that it could be forever

You were the one who stood up for me

At times I seem blind and I cannot see

 

In your arms I felt the warmest feeling

There I knew love was all worth living

Through all trials we fought for each other

Your sweetest words that I still ponder

 

I’ve never wanted to leave you behind

If only I have the will for time to rewind

You know I love you but we had to depart

As both of us meant to have a broken heart

 

Maybe one day our fates will bring us back

To the right path that we will merely track

Sooner I will hold your hands once more

As the love we cherished opens its door

I really love the second stanza. Your poem explains a lot about loss of love and happiness throughout it. It simply happens that there are some instances in our lives that we must let go of the past and the memories with the one we love because if we keep on coming back for it, we might just hurt ourselves. I listened to the song and it really touched my heart. Excellent poem.

I like how it goes. It shows very well how no one wanted to leave the relationship or be seperated. BUt life had other plans and they were forced to. IT happens so much and its sad. I love the way you put it together and were able to write it from a song. Great job.
