Grass Fingertips

Grass Fingertips

A Poem by Deanna

Lay on the grass

And let yourself be caressed

The grass blades poke and massage like fingers

Touching every inch of skin

The green grips the flesh

Just relax like you’ve never been

Close your eyes

It’s okay

The fingers keep you safe

They hold up from the tears that are cried

The fingertips hold you high

And feel proud

The delicate cushions lulls for sleep

When consciousness begins to slip

Everything is all right by the grass’s fingertips
