She Is Ice

She Is Ice

A Poem by Tina Kline

"

In the swirling greyish mists

dancing before his astonished eyes

was an enchanting vision so mystifying

she who was more childlike than woman

an alluring seductive vision he could not ignore

his heart ached to touch her

his desire was to possess her

her innocent flirtatious ways held him enthralled

he longed to hold her tightly in his arms

he wanted to feel her and love her

somehow he had to bring her to his side

but she was more dream than she was real

he knew she was lacking any real human warmth

he knew she could not feel love or desire

she was an ice princess with winter's cold dead heart

but for him the reality couldn't kill the fantasy

and he found he was unable to leave her alone

in his desire to have her he was emphatic

under her spell he fell terribly hard and fast

one touch and his fantasies turned to cold endless terror

he was trapped in her lifeless and hurting games

he became her plaything existing for her delight alone

her ice became his pleasure

her pain became his ecstasy

soon growing bored she left him like an unwanted toy

trapped now in the swirling greyish mists

he became lost to everything

I like this poem. Direct and honest statements leading the reader into a twisted love affair.
"her ice became his pleasure
her pain became his ecstasy"
I like the strong ending. No weakness in the outstanding poetry.

A very stark and well describe person who uses others then discards them. We all know those times, I'm sure!

Very well done, written with skill. A very cold cold lady but such people exist in the m ale of the species as well. Chilling and spooky. Love the visuals of the spell falling over him.

Striking. This describes several relationships of people I know. Definitely struck a cord with me. Very nice work.

Thanks.
A simply stunning poem. The power behind your words is truly felt by the reader. This female creature of some sort is like a black window spider except she doesn't kill her prey just destroys them in other ways. The visuals are outstanding. So is the helpless allure the man feels who knows the danger but partakes of it anyway. Your writing skill shines bright in this poem.

Thanks.
This has a song like quality to it and I love the details and imagery in this poem. It weaves a tale of deceitful and destroying attraction. Great work.
