Dark Journey

Dark Journey

A Poem by Tina Kline
"

The pain that leads to suicide.

"
Sometimes shadows become life like
Memories haunting
Or just nightmares come alive

They take on real shape and form
Terror eats away
Day by day
Year by year
Death reaches out her lovely fingers
Tickling the mind
Hurting the soul

There's no relief
There's no healing
Suicide eventually arrives
The Grim Reaper with his prize

Cross the River Styx
Into the Land of the Dead
The graveyard of suicides
Who dream dark dreams
Of what never was
and now never can be

This poem is packed with emotions, and that's a good thing. Good poetry has lots of emotion, you have that. Well done.

This one really made all my hair stand on end. Eerie yet darkly beautiful. Sort of seductive in a terribly dark way. Outstanding imagery. Well done!

Very dark and impressive poem. The journey across the River Styx to the land of suicides and breathtaking and horrifying at the same time. Your dark story is very compelling.

wow...and i just picture that graveyard...and the poets lying there...plath, sexton, jarrell, berryman...and others who just couldn't write themselves out of that space..and got suffocated by the constant dark thoughts.

riveting piece.
