Halloween Child

I dream dreams of October
Falling leaves
                      Chilly temperatures
     Dripping rain
I drape myself with Spider's Webs
                      I wear a witch's hat upon my head
I go out on October 31st
                      I seek the blood for which I thirst
I wear Dracula's Black Silk Cape
                      I laugh
                               Show off my fangs
A sweet promise to others
                     "Let me bite - You'll like your fate."
I weave amongst candle lit Jack-O'-Lanterns
                     Black cats follow me
Little brown bats dangle from my clothes
                     My long hair
Jewels - Accessories
                     Anything is fair
I  twirl
         I spin around the Wicca
                                Bonfire
I have so much energy
                     I never tire
Vampires and werewolves
                    Dance with me
Then I sing Dark Songs
                    With the resurrected dead
I come alive on Halloween
                    The holiday season is at hand
For a moment
                    On Halloween I am not sad
So I keep this holiday alive all year long
                    Spiders - Bats - Candle lit pumpkins
For it is on this one holiday
                     Halloween - That I love
        It is where - Me -
                             Vampire Child - I belong!
