It's Halloween

It's Halloween

A Poem by Tina Kline

Skinny orange and black cats
Hear their tortured screaming cries
Darting about in hordes across the frosty night
Fanged and furry little bats twirl and fly

Jack-O-Lanterns grin from the misty shadows
In the cemeteries ghosts drift about and moan
Black and cruel werewolves gather and howl
On the streets gangs of zombies weep and groan

Vampires creep about so pale and cold
Hunger burns in their blood red sight
Drifting on the air childish voices of hungry ghouls
Halloween has arrived on this last October night
