Eyelash in my tea

Eyelash in my tea

A Poem by Tks
"

It's the little things in life...

"
The Sun hung lazily about
Casting a glare every now and then at us
As we sat on the verandah
Sipping Darjeeling tea

The faint smell of sea breeze greeting our nostrils
Mingled with the smell of love
She swirled the tea round with a silver spoon

Making circles with a flick of her fingers
(oh, what circles did we make indeed!)

A gentle eyelash

Probably in search of an adventure

Tired of living on her eyes
(now, is it possible to ever be tired of her? Foolish eyelash)

Bid adieu to his family and friends

And fluttered off into the mercy

Of the Harsh elements

Landing softly onto my tea

Hardly a ripple.

The verandah quietens

The Sun forgets to scowl

I look down at my tea

I see a reflection of me

And

Two eyelashes

Adorning my tea.

Now tell me, folks

Wouldn't it be foolish

Of me to say

I am alone?

this is very sweet
to hold onto her
even her eyelashes are enough to feel her presence
i guess this is true loyalty
to not need much
to feel you are with someone

It was a lovely poem, but I was wondering at the end... was the second eyelash your own eyelash, having left your eye to join hers?

It was really very beautiful as I have come to expect from you.

Thank you, my dear friend :) its always a pleasure to have you drop by
This is such an eccentric and amazing piece! The title attracted me to get into it, and Bravo, I got a glimpse of such an exquisite work! Had I been in your place, I would only skim off the layer over the tea and heartily drink. I appreciate your creativity :)

This one is funny indeed :) I loved the build up to the last stanza -
"Two eyelashes
Adorning my tea.
Now tell me, folks
Wouldn't it be foolish
Of me to say
I am alone?"
Good job

I love Darjeeling tea, too, so I completely understand the love affair. I enjoyed the imagery of this piece but was thrown a little by the use of the word "scowl" at first and had to read it over a few times. Then I realized that the sun couldn't scowl as you came to terms with the fact that you are not alone and that your use of the word scowl was to describe the shift in focus from the beautiful setting to the reflection of yourself and how you feel lonely. Anyway, I may be reading too much into this and perhaps it's the darkness of the word scowl within this otherwise warm and loving piece that has me thrown for a loop. That being said, I believe I will go and make Darjeeling tea! Thanks for sharing.

I'm glad and you are welcome.
hey, Tks! that verandah looks comfy. we should sit together sometimes to spend some free time to feel the warmth of the sun...and the tea! hahah this piece is lovely. I'm a little bit perplexed about everyone there, though (or is it just you? then, who is this 'she'? or....) hahah it was a fun read anyway. oh yeah...what's darjeeling tea? sorry for asking :)) I've never heard of it before.
