Man Is But a Leaf

Man is but a leaf in the winds of life

In the fall of life each showing age
The human seated and the browning leaves
Each getting stiffer with passing time
Each passing day slowly thieves
The beauty and the youth
Of the leaf and the person of age
The leaf will fall to blow around
The person shall move to another stage
Each waves in the wind, and the winds of life
As on each the sun does set
Each enjoying the last saps of their Autumn days
That herald the coming of Death.

Wow. I am so glad to have happened across you and your writing! This one reminds me of one I wrote once when I was younger and more whimsical, as to not be as jaded as I am now. I believe it is called "In The Belly Of A Leaf". So now I'll surely be digging through boxes tomorrow to find it! I think I may even know where it is. If so, I'll have to see about posting it. But I really like yours and the correlations between man and nature. I think this says a lot about our minds and spirits. I like it!

This was really quite beautiful, and I adored the last line. I really so enjoyed the meaning in this and it seems as if there is something so much deeper.
