Heartbreak & Writer's Block

Heartbreak & Writer's Block

A Poem by Tomi

As I scribble these words

Finding no meaning

Hoping that my broken heart

Would somehow find healing

Although we never were

We could have been something.

When trying not to care

My pen shows my heart’s bleeding

I can take the heartbreak

It’s down to bad luck

One thing that’ll surely make my earth quake:

An unending streak of writer’s block

This poem is kind of everywhere to me. Kind of hard to follow a little. Can you explain it to me in depth. I get the overall just of it but why did you use the words you chose. Especially the last line.

I really can't explain any better..wish i could. Sorry...
Disappointments in writing, friendships, and in love can be devastating in the short term, but each sadness bears the fruit of learning and becoming a better person, friend or lover~
Well penned, Tomi.

I have learned, writers`s block is fine, simply a sign that your writer`s soul needs a break.
Never force it ; with talent ( and you have it ) the poems will come..

Not sure what it is either
Good to write words when the heart is sad. It can release some of the pain. Heartbreak need time to heal. We never forget. Thank you for sharing the excellent poem and thoughts.
