Dear dark angel

Dear dark angel

A Poem by Tomoe Tellez
"

Darkness gets comfortable when you get used to it.

"
I know that in between the shadows you feel better
It is more comfortable than the outside
For that's where in the days light
You can see how distant everything truly is.
So far away that you prefer to return
Under the shelter of your dark home
Where only a candle lights your way
Its tiny flame is enough for you
And you wish nothing more the being there
Or at least of this
you want to convince yourself
Instead of leaving and letting
Life be as it should
Your eyes are now used to the darkness
to the point where you can see with clarity
You think that outside there's nothing to see
It's true that one never knows
with what we might meet
But don't you fear,
only cautious you must be.
Becuase this world is not hell,
People just say so to justify their errors
Even though it's not heaven either
It is what you make of it
Don't blame others for the situation
in which you find yourself
You decide if you want to be stuck
in someone else's problems
Nobody is anybody's prisoner,
only of themselves.
You are the worst enemy
there can be for you.
So it's time you get out of there!
With no fear or sadness
Leave that behind in your fortress
You, that even though you're a dark angel,
You're still able
To have a pure heart.

I don't speak spanish ...so i don't know if you got it right. all i know is this piece rocks.

as for darkness being comfortable? hell no. but after a time, there's no light, and you can't break free...because you already belong to it. after enough time, you're thinking it's as good as it can be. it never gets comfortable, but it's always better than the outside, where you can just die, with no one to even notice you're gone. that's how life looks like from the darkness. it lives in everyone, and sometimes, it's more real than the hopes and dreams. sometimes, you just give up. sometimes you fool yourself with the hopes and dreams, into thinking it can be better. .and it keeps getting worse. and that's when there's no way out, no way back. darkness rules the world, while happiness is an illusion, that flies away in a moment. the only question is, will you give up after sooner, or later? more pain? or less? it is all how the logic of darkness goes. the truth is, no one's heart becomes impure because they're dark. and once your down there, it will always be haunting you, there is no way out of it. you'll just learn how to live with it. there are no drugs, no Scriptures, no myths, no gods, no people that can change the fact. you either live with it, or forget living. there will be times when you'll think it's gone, but the horrifying truth is...it's not.

and all that i know from my own life. that's the ugliest part of the darkness. you can get over a few heartbreaks, but once you see the really bad stuff.. there is no way out. it will wrap itself around your soul, and wont let go. ever. i tried everything... it's all bullshit. whether you believe or not, it doesn't help. the best one can do, is learn how to live with it. that's all anyone can do.

It is true. You have to rise above the veil of darkness, let it fall aside. Remove the veil of darkness, from your soul, to carry on in this life. there is only, one you. In the whole world, light the candle with which to see, and let us see. Thee, precious lady. No one is perfect if there is let me see him or her. there is no one without blemish. You are beautiful. Believe in who you be.

One word that floats out from all the wonderful imagery is this: Redemption. Such hope, such optimism ... sometimes, you do need these attributes in life to help you move forward. A simple lesson told elegantly and beautifully: "Nobody is anybody's prisoner". Great job. Continue writing.

I'm sure this is my favorite work of yours.
It's so weird how we have to find ourselves
in such a situation to realize these things.
No other way to learn to see yourself as the center.
It usually involves a lot of hurt before doing so.
I can very much identify with this.

"But don't you fear,
only cautious you must be.
Because this world is not hell,
People just say so to justify their errors
Even though it's not heaven either
It is what you make of it"

that part is beyond amazing.
Also, kudos for the translation.
I'd really love to read the original,
but I can't speak Spanish. :/

I just like the feel of these words I suppose. This poem has so many lines that sound like they're quoted from famous people, but that may just be me. I'm sure your friend was happy to get such a great gift on her birthday.

Excellent start. As you yourself said, you are a writer, and a good one! Keep writing; you have a talent. Very poetic, very beautiful. Your poem has true meaning, "You are the worst enemy there can be for you." Fantastic. Keep up the great work, I will be reading it!
