Who am I ?

Who am I ?

A Poem by Tom
"

A nature themed poem

"
I am within without, here there and everywhere,
Unseen by naked eye, just as pure thin air
Blow cold north wind that heralds winter snow,
Then beckon at spring lambs, to leap up high and go.
Bring forth the summer sun in most resplendent ray
When green leaf slowly fades, remind swallow to fly away.
Will on the mighty bird to fly free on the wing
Uplift the souls of weary folk, when little children sing
Inspire the spawning salmon not to relent the fight,
Against the raging current, with journey's end in sight.
Returning to that brook, where was its place of birth,
To procreate the seed, then die in happy mirth.
Darwin spoke of theory to figure a solution,
How life formed singularly, the precede of evolution.
But I've been here from time immemorial, before all life began
The plants, the creatures and the ape, he said turned into man
No doubt he was a scholar of much vaunted pedigree,
Though at life's end was heard to say, 'I believe in thee!"
I spur on the ailing chick to break the hard, encasing shell,
Awaken sleeping bear, with spring's sweet, enticing smell
Paint the colour in the flowers that captivate the bee
Aid the tiny acorn to grow into a massive tree.
Which in turn provides a haven and sanctuary,
to many wondrous creatures, that dwell within its canopy.
I encourage new born baby, to cry aloud with zest
As mother draws up lovingly, to nurture from her breast.
With bowler and the batsman, opposed in sporting rivalry
Who later sit together and enjoy each other's camaraderie
I march with gallant soldier, to answer his country's call
And serenely he shall walk with me, if in battle he should fall.
Many acclaim me as the Creator, or other names of merit,
Though people often refer to me, as Mother Nature's eternal Spirit !

Tom! I bet, you just go out there in open, gaze at any poor soul and you can uplift the soul with your words. Beautiful description of that Omnipresent creator and for once It looked like I was performing my daily Prayer.

YOU MADE GOD SPEAK IN YOUR OWN WAYS

You speak the truth Dhaye & thank you kindly for your welcome visit!
growing up with Southern Baptists you could not even think of evolution other than a discarded theory. Least you be slapped silly. mother nature and mother god were the same species. then I grew older and got a cat that left the house one night, had sex and then I had multiple cats. evolution had come in the form of 6 little mouths to feed. or. that creator guy can be unforgiving.

it takes a lot of conviction to write of belief when 94 percent of poetry is the purest fantasy. another 2 percent is anarchy. 3 percent heart ache. 1 percent revenge. But 100 percent of it is sincere... great poem.....dana

You are welcome !!
I think this poem is very beautiful. I love the rhyme scheme and the overall rhythm of the lines. They flow well. I love how there's a mix of life, death, and hardship. I get a sense I am with Mother Nature's eternal Spirit as I read this poem. I think you do a good job at representing it.

I love how this poem incorporates a sense of loving the earthly present and appreciating its beauty, but also applying this divinity to it. I do remember sitting in class and hearing about Darwin's Theory, in which fails to give an answer as to who would start the chain of evolution. I feel like this poem highlights the idea that belief is a part of human nature, which is a product of nature itself if that makes sense.

Awesome job.

Thanks for posting! Have a great day!

And you too !
The "All" of creation begins with the Creator; I am the alpha and the omega, all that is and was comes from the beginning, "In the beginning was the word and the word was God", so I garner from your explicit descriptions of life in its beauty, even the theory of Darwin who in the end said I believe in thee-Mother Nature yes, but a Mother Nature only possible because of the Almighty Creator. The eternal spirit of life and everything of life comes from one initial source!

It is captivating how you have weaved the eternal spirit into that which is nature, and with perfect rhyme! I note too the beautiful image to remind us of the importance of Mother Nature; the ruling Mother of this magnificent earthly realm.

I am glad you have brought this back for us to enjoy. Such splendor, such beauty to behold, such miracles at our fingertips every day shall ever be with us, charged to us to be guardians, because of a love that is equal to no other!
