Marie's Spring

Marie's Spring

A Poem by Tony Jordan
"

A senryu In memory of Marie. A wonderful writer and friend to many here. She loved to herald each season with a poem... http://www.writerscafe.org/robinson

A Poem by Marie
"

For the 1st day of Spring...

 "

Hint of colour

In the air

Morning glories

Lift their heads

Southern breezes

Whisper low

Urging them

From winter beds.

Now the earth

Is tinged with green

Birds and bees

And butterflies

Open up

The secret box

With its ancient,

New surprise.

I got here too late to know Marie, but I've seen so many tributes to her, I can tell how beloved she was on this website! This is an awesome spring poem with flowing enjambment & it touches on such a precious aspect of remembering Marie's writing traditions!

Beautiful introduction to her lovely spring poem. Yes those crocus buds would surely gather. I loved Marie's poetry, especially those she wrote for her grandbabies. I had great respect for her critiques of my poetry. I truly wish I had gotten to know her better. Your poem for her is lovely, and I know she is counting the syllables.

Dear friend. When Marie passed I too took her latest poem and hopefully immortalised her by including it in my listings and in my first book of poetry. I explain why it's there as tribute to her. This small poem has made me sad and happy at the same time. Kudos.

Yes, I remember Marie from an earlier site which no longer exists(I recognised her picture. ) A very honest, but down to earth reviewer who took no prisoners when dealing with trolls and time wasters.
