A love poem collaboration

A timeless night a misty dawn when all is calm but me
and soft visions that steal my dreams

 

Linger tenderly,

 

As right before this blissful day romance began to bloom
through sunshine skies that brighten eyes

 

And dance across the room,

 

As graceful as a butterfly, yet warm as a flame
for one moment of mystery

 

Surrender called my name,

 

And like a moth drawn to that flame something happened to me
the fire burning in my heart

 

Was pure as love could be,

For with each breath, every heartbeat, forever intertwined
of timeless nights, or misty dawns,

 

Endlessly 

You’re mine.

This flows, so, so gently. The moth similie is my highlight; I love that they fly into brightness. I'd be interested to know how two people pieced this together, collaborations are always fascinating!

Sometimes we will start with a verse sent from one to another
Sometimes we have a poem that we want to read as a "his and hers"
And sometimes we just bounce thoughts off one another until we have what we are looking for.

Sometimes it comes together in minutes
Sometimes it takes a week to get it right.

Sometimes we just send verses back and forth
Sometimes we talk on the phone and throw out lines or ideas, verses or o phrases
Unti something sticks.

Most of all... we respect each others talent and ideas to work together
As we craft our poetry, and we love when a poem comes together.
