The Garden of Eden

The Garden of Eden

A Poem by Treo LeGigeo
"

Set during the Industrial Revolution about a worker who wants to leave the factories and go back to a simple life of farming.

"
Away from the smoke, away I go,
Away from the noise and the black snow.
No more will I labour before a machine,
Instead I'll work outside in the green.

Leaving behind the boring monotony,
I'll go and find a life of beauty,
For I will once again be in freedom,
Like we started, in the Garden of Eden.

Back to the Garden, such a wonderful thought unfortunately not many could for the farming industry paid low wages and most workers had familys that needed food and a roof over their heads..........still a lovely poem of hope :O)

I can't put my feelings in words, but just excellent poem. So much contained in eight lines. I love this.

Interesting pattern, I like the simplicity it holds and yet the words are in depth. I myself tend to write very long poems but I like short poems like this. Short poems that even in it's short length it seems complete. Also, I like that its metaphoric and yet awesomely well written in word choice and in arrangement. I think it could connect with almost anyone. Amazing poem.
