As The Light Fades to Black

As the light fades to black and my mind is laid to rest
As the last bits of air flow through my chest
This life i've come to love begins to pass me by
It will not be long before I am to die

Like a fire in the night the years flicker and shine
And I see the people I loved one more time
I see them smile,I see them laugh
I wish and prey that it will last

But nothing in life is to last for long
And we've reached the end of this sad song
As my tired heart gives out its last beat
And the memories fade to a place of retreat

I speak my last words "Remember me please"
My wife begins to cry as she falls to her knees
My two small sons are shook to there core
As they look on and see there fathers alive no more

My wife holds our children to silence the fear
She takes them in close and wispers in there ear
"For we must move on of that there is no choice
And in the memory of daddy's love we shall forever rejoice"
