Impossible Farewell

Impossible Farewell

A Poem by lauren emily
"

This took me THREE HOURS to write and I still don't feel like I expressed all my feelings clearly enough. Dang..

"

My arms are wrapped around you,

why can't you just stay right here?

But you have to leave now,

will you ever reappear?

"Of course we'll talk soon,"

You whisper with a broken face.

But what if this is not true?

You can not just be replaced!

We pull away slowly,

sadness clearly in our eyes.

I stare at you for what seems like

an eternity,

I try to memoirze.

I want this moment to last forever,

this time before you must go.

But that just won't happen,

my heart turns hollow.

You turn away from me

and begin to walk away.

I reach out to you

but there is nothing there but the breeze

of a summer's day.

I look around frantically,

searching for something that is not there.

I realize that this is all just a sad memory,

my soul is filled with dispair.

The pain that comes is unendurable,

I fall to my knees.

Tears flood my eyes, through this sadness

I can not see.

Will I ever see you again?

I can not be sure.

You told me to trust you,

but right now this sorrow can not be cured.
