Stranger of Hope

Stranger of Hope

A Poem by Ellie Venice
"

A poem about some random thing. Wrote in one go.

"

Everyone else was laughing when I walked in the room.

Everyone but him.

He sat still observing the world,

Then he noticed me.

He walked towards me in a few quick strides,

Never hitting a thing

He looked into my eyes as he walked,

As graceful as can be.

He grabbed a drink of the table

Then closed the gap between us.

When I looked into his eyes,

I saw a sea of hope.

He looked at me with hope,

As if I was an answer.

An answer to some impossible problem,

That he strives to find the answer.

He looked at me with careful eyes,

Never missing a thing

He hoping that he would find,

The missing piece to him.

I felt him strive for something.

Something more than himself.

Then I looked into his eyes,

And saw a haven of love.

His caring eyes looked back at me,

And as I wondered what he saw,

He wrapped his arm around me,

And whispered to me, “Hello, love.”

We laughed and danced that night,

With his gentle arms around me.

He took me home tipsy and woozy,

And wished a good night.

I woke up to a peaceful morning,

A migraine hitting hard,

As I tried to remember why I felt so in love.

I couldn’t remember last night,

Or anything at all.

All I knew was that I was in love,

With a stranger of hope.
