A Poem by Ryan Falzon - Tymon
"

For Computer Geeks :P

"
Cycling at impressive speeds,
faster then the greatest steeds.
The CPU is the main brain,
as it cycles, again and again.
With every Bit and Every Byte
Transfered at a speed beyond sight,
Everything works like clockwork,
until something goes berserk.
This is when the swearing begins,
and when it gets under our skins!
While logic and reason is our key,
 never forget simplicity!
It speaks in a simple way,
that is translated in a single say
One for yes, Zero for no
that is all you need to know.
It is a great creation of our time,
But never forget in our prime,
There is a limit what it can give,
For it never be truly creative

What an interesting piece! I like the view you take on computers. Rhyming poems aren't often my favorite, but I liked how you rhymed in this poem. Very nice! My only concern are these two lines:

"But logic and reason is our key,
but never forget simplicity!"

Using "but" at the beginning of two lines in a row is kind of distracting. Maybe try cutting one out or using a different word?

Since you wrote it for the geeks, I feel compelled to point out that every bit and byte is not transferred at the speed of light within the CPU, which is what I assume is being referred to as a continuation of the subject of the first quatrain.

Other than the minor factual inaccuracy, which may one day become fact, I enjoyed it. Computers cannot replace humans, no matter how powerful they become. I am not a fan of the term 'artificial intelligence', as biological behaviour can never be modelled to the level of detail required for a machine to ever be as unpredictable as a brain.

@Annette Jay Sweeney Thanks, I just fixed that now =). Also, the title decodes to the word "cycle" which was my original name for the poem. Search for a binary to text converter, or work it out yourselves.
