Protection

Protection

A Poem by Janna Nicole

My armor is thick,
and my shield is broad.
I wear a brace made of foam.
My chest is my shield.
Broad and strong,
to protect my heart from the tests I run into.

Nothing is false.
I am true.

I question the need for such things.
The beast that holds the guards strong,
has two faces.
That is what should be feared...

Remember to breathe,
as the faces reveal themselves.
Reactions are not carved in stone.
They are traced in sand.
