Have You Ever...

Have you ever seen something,
that made you reconsider everything?
All that you once knew,
sank into the blue.
Deep into your mind,
you and the knowledge begin to bind.
It settles in it's place,
and starts to grow a new 'face'.
Our new thoughts overwhelm the old,
and our opinions start to fold.
Almost like a tree of cognition,
awareness is my mission.

I still edit my pieces from twenty years ago, we are all works in process, even in our own beliefs and personalities. I liked the write, it reminded me of the style I used when I first began as a poet. Bravo!

Well I just saw this poem, and it did make me reconsider how intriguing some poetry can be... I wanted to copy some parts, but i couldn't without putting up the whole poem...

This really says something quite profound... I have experienced many transformations in my day, and am sure others have as well. The more experience, the greater the awareness, and the 'tree of cognition' flourishes... hopefully, anyway :-) Wonderful metaphor...
