On Literal Love

On Literal Love

A Poem by UC Poika
"

What can I do I love you, Writng?

"

What can I do I am in love with you . . .
Where there is a place to show it you will know
Our bond is much stronger than gorilla glue
More powerful than television can grow
Your keyboard welcomes the hands that let you see
There was no prose, and there was no pretty pleas
As the seas of the muses are all alike to me
Whether the tide comes in or whether it flees
As far back as I can recall our love was here
Black as the ink trails papering our ways
Black as the shadows called thoughts I revere
Black as my heart bruised as my mind's inlays?
I do not love you right but I do write
Everything you say some where some day some night.

I like the repetition of black down at the bottom, the diction is peculiar and that sense of the unexpected gives this piece unusual range.
