Putting the Cart before the Horse

Putting the Cart before the Horse

A Poem by UC Poika
"

A poem on the false perceptions that plague a person in the midst of a mental situation wherein they were arrested for cruelty to animals though they belonged to P.E.T.A.

"

They say the revolving door kicked you in the butt
That when you got out this time you felt much worse
Like the only one on the team to ever get cut,
So when asked how you were you started to curse
But that was the way it was in this world of course
The way it was under your hat I haven't heard
But some say it's like walking home with your dead horse
Wishing he was as light to your arms as your bird
Amazed you could do it while pulling a cart
Complete with road apples and other worries
Wondering why diesels never seem to start
Especially when one is behind and hurries
To you it all makes sense but not in their eyes
For the cart was invisible but the horse isn't to your surprise.
