What is on our Lips

What is on our Lips

A Poem by UC Poika
"

In hoping a little but not too much, privately yearning. But you never know what is on our lips. That's the acrostic part, the rest is the sonnet part. Do I tell too much in these poems?

"

In quiet expectation I walk with you

Hoping maybe this time a kiss good-bye. . .

A welcoming smile is what was finally true

Little knowing it was what you wished I’d try,

But awkward I back down because they’re here

Not really but as soon as I tweet they are ...

Too personal just by being there I fear

Much to my chagrin like under a listening star

Privately there in my tiny timid cell

Yearning to take you in my arms with ease

But never learning what is best to tell.

You and I know we do nothing just to please,

Never realizing our relationships

Know what is real and what is just on our lips!
