Absence Makes Both Fishes Grow Fonder

Absence Makes Both Fishes Grow Fonder

A Poem by UC Poika
"

A chance separation required a planned reunion from the point of view of two fish hopefully in love.

"

Less than an inch from you I still want to

Touch you as I did when I was swept away

When the only voice I heard I imagined from you

Nearly broke my heart into two as they say;

One heart forced to look into the current alone,

The other hoping I’d get on back into the school

Accustomed to the way I felt, the way I’d grown

To love being next to you in our small pool

Then I heard your voice saying you’re alright

Making everything fine as I swam up stream

Hearing, seeing, talking, and smiling so bright;

A dream came true but only back to the dream,

But then an inch away and so very near

The fact was all I needed to feel it is right to be here!
