Just One More Drink

Just One More Drink

A Poem by Underestimated

Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a women who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. Proverbs 31:30

Just One More Drink

You drink it

And now you’re drunk

You can’t tell what’s right and what’s wrong

The fragrance, the warmth of it is ruthlessly tantalizing

Their words are like an enchantment

A polishing of the appealing skin

But deep within you are fading endlessly

You just want more of it

The approval, the brilliance, the eminence

If your ears deafen when the throngs cheers

Then you think you are fulfilled

You have finished drinking, but no

You want more of it

It seems you can’t stop

You still want the face in the looking glass to be lovelier

The figure in the photo to be thinner

Just to have praise for whom you are

And alas, when you want to stop

To halt this insanity and madness

Give a finish to existing for an adulation filled world

You resolve to have

But you want more

Tell me if the subject is clear enough. I am sometimes too vague with my poems and people don't understand.

your message is strong and clear it rings out and is all to true. The great thing or down fall at times is all of life is like this, and we are in a constant struggle for balance.

I'm thirteen. A very young and inexperienced writer. I love romance, adventure and supsense writing. (and maybe, just a little bit of horror) But I am so excited to see what I'll learn being here! .. more..
