Ours

Ours

A Poem by Unwelcomeguest
"

A quick poem on ownership

"

Think for a second

What is truly ours?

Money perhaps that we trade and waste

No

Just numbers on screen, just numbers in anyone’s hand

Money is not ours

Our clothes could be what we really own

No

They can be anyone’s and everyone’s to possess

Clothes are not ours

Loves and Hates surely must belong to us

No

Spoon fed by society to make you into one of “us” or “them”

Loves and Hates are not ours

Ideas and thoughts cannot possibly be another’s

No

Only the things others allow, not real property

Ideas are not ours

Names you must concede are proper ownership

No

Given and taken, changed and twisted, insubstantial

Names are not ours

So what is ours, we have nothing

NO

We have our mistakes and what we learn

Our mistakes are ours and ours alone

Our mistakes have taken everything else

Well, I'm sixteen and essentially sick and tired of the utter mundanity of the world I get to live in. When I was younger I would pretend to be an alien and escape from school or have imiginary sword .. more..
