No-fly Bird

Why I don't fly.

I'm afraid to fly

And I know why.

Every time I tell myself and say,

"I will never be the same person - I will make those a******s pay.",

Still, empathy is holding me,

Keeping me from becoming 

The devil I wanted to be.

So if you wonder why

I don't get  out from my world and see the sky,

Please understand that, like a bird who had lost its wings,

I am now afraid to fly.

wow. ..this piece moved me. It's as if there is a part inside that would evolve, if only we could break the parts that bind us.. but that part that keeps us back, is just who we are. For better and worse. And keeping us human- Awesome write. Invokes a lot o thoughts. Thanks for sharing!

a******s deserve their comeuppances but no need stooping to their level and i thought that was a nice sentiment you put in the poem. needs a polish with word economy taking in to mind how it helps the poem to flow better but that's not hard to do with a proofread or two. well thought out and had a start and finish and made sense. cool
