Gone With The Wind

Gone With The Wind

A Poem by Uranus

pretty soon...
it will be over
i could feel my heart beating,
"thud, thud"
i heard the wind say,
"come, come,
away from that body
come and play with me"
"don't worry," i replied
"soon, we will be together;
soon this rope
is going to take
the life out of me"
"my son! my son!
what have you done?!"
my parents cried
"father, mother, i am sorr - "
"you are so stupid!"
they exclaimed
"you are selfish!
you are good for nothing!
you are an idiot!
you..."
silence followed
i was glad it all stopped
"hello, my friend",
said the wind.

This made me feel the way that I felt when I read Watership Down for the first time as a kid.
***SPOILER ALERT***
The end saw the rabbit spirit calling the central character (which signified dying). I was happy and devastated at the same time.
