"Lost Emotion"

"Lost Emotion"

A Poem by Valentine

' Lost Emotion'

Eyes look deeply... into the mirror,
No emotion...is shown there.
Seeing death... where life once was,
The mirror reflects...that is all it does.

It cannot speak or expound upon,
Or explain reasons...feelings are gone;
Or speak for the emptiness...there,
Where a soul...stands... naked and bare.

Death looks out...of empty eyes
Eyes that... no longer can cry.
Just a blank expression, upon a face,
Of a soul locked in it's own space.

Eyes that no longer... see life's pain,
A soul lost...never to feel again.
Death entered...and claimed the soul,
When she walked out...pain took its toll.

Eyes of death...look into a mirror,
Love's final emotion...finally died here.

A sad poem. The eyes do tell a story. When the heart is sad. The eyes hold the color of sorrow. Thank you dear friend for sharing the excellent poetry.

Ted, I had a dad and 4 brothers, easier to read when you have seen guys in action.....Kathie
devastating ... absolutely devastating Kathie! this line:
"Eyes that no longer... see life's pain,: is so fine! how down can one be any further than when pain no longer has meaning ..especially for the creative in the world .. whew! very strong, emotive poem .. :((

Thank you for your review, I appreciate it. Kathie
I like the idea here of the speaker searching in the mirror for signs of 'life' but the mirror refuses to do anything but be a mirror - no ally - no comfort.
Good portrayal of a husk of a human being Kathie.

Both sides fell and both sides hurt. Kathie
I could feel it as though a cold breeze slapped my body. Strong, intense!
