Echoed Thoughts

Echoed Thoughts

A Poem by Valentine
"

Thinking too much this week on the family that I have lost...too young and too soon..mom and dad, I love and miss you, Spence, Daniel, Bill and Lauretha [siblings]..I ache to see you and hear your voices.

"

        Echoed Silence

Old thoughts echoing through my mind,

Of a far away place, in a long ago time.

Voices that once spoke...are no longer heard.

Favorite memories...only unspoken words.

Emptiness encloses...then completely surrounds;

Locking the doors to any movement or sound.

Breath...that sounded 'life' into the ear,

If breathing is gone...how can there be life here?

Feeling and touching...than silent cries.

Heart's broken...no more words of good-bye.

Searching and seeking...for a familiar face,

That the sound of silence...has now replaced.

Setting here longing...to just hear your voice,

Why is death...Gods final choice.

Still loving and missing all of you, I

will see you when I join you in Heaven.

Valentine,
"Echoed Thoughts" Your vulnerable and honest revelations just really round out who you are as a person and I love it!
This writing gives voice to the layers we all carry of past experiences and people once real as today. Interesting too how memories are so much a part of who we are inside of ourselves and the effort to manage these inner realities.
Precious writing like this is important as others will find strength in shared experience as they empathize and are given a place of their own memories.
I hope that your memories are softening with time.
Bless you,
Kathy

Passionate forever kind of love I missed it in my first lifetime I will dream of it tonight and make it last each night after that. Divorce separates what was going to be eternal or an infinity love affair.

So far you're one of the few authors whose rhyming poetry I can bear to read, most of them I quit halfway through, it's just so easy for rhymes to feel forced. However this was natural and beautiful. I'm sorry for your loss, I know words will never do sometimes, but I hope the tides of longing creep back eventually, touching write, thanks for sharing~

Somethings are not for us to understand. We will learn on the final journey. I like the perfect ending to the excellent poetry dear Poet.

We must do what we can. A small gift of food and kind words. Can change a life.
May I be pedantic and say you made the right decision to put the title out of speech marks ? A small point, I know, but it reads better. I would put God in the possessive too, God`s final choice. I like this, as I like Valentine`s work, that is always sincere.
