              "Words"

 

Some words often come to mind,

That were not meant...to be unkind.

Words like..."forever" and "I swear,"

Or saying that, "I'll always care."

 

Or "darling I love you", "I'll always stay,"

And that..."I will never go away."

"By your side I will forever dwell."

"Gosh you are so sweet," or "I think you're swell."

 

For when a lover's heart is broken,

T'is other words that ... are spoken.

For... when one lover does depart.

He often leaves with both their hearts.

 

Then all the former words...come to mind,

Only now they seem...no longer kind.

With bitterness...you often recall...

The way your lover...said them all.

 

Now, all former words seem unkind,

You look inside of your heart and find;

Nothing but...an empty shell...

And echoing words, recalled...to dwell.

 

Now all the words...seem like bitter lies;

Unkind words...after all of love dies.

I know those words Kathie, i guess we all at some time have been told we are wonderful, i guess sometimes it just can't last, that's when your poem tells the truth, do those words ever really mean what they say :)

I had a friend that had all of the right words said to her for years. Then she found out he was sneaking around with a lady down their street. Some people are rotten. Kathie

Made me cry...... It brought the feelings, that dwell deep inside of me, to the surface ...... You can give wonderful words to one's feelings valentine!!!! So true the words once spoken out of love, when remembered with a broken heart surely seem bitter ......

words spoken,are always true , we have no control over the hear after

Most words are meant at the time they are spoken. Some just lie to get their own way at the time. They mean it so they can gain. Kathie

Dear Poet. You open the door to a long discussion. The power of words.
"Now all the words...seem like bitter lies;
Unkind words...after all of love dies."
In the Jack London book "When Gods laugh". Was a story about love. The lovers believed love was life. Life was love. They thought they defeated God by making their love last. In the end. God won. One of the lovers die. I enjoyed this poem. I like poetry that make me think and ponder.
